Enter your bank, the amount you want to send, and the type of transfer. The calculator tells you whether the amount fits inside your bank's current Zelle® cap, estimates the fee (Zelle is free; alternatives are not), and compares against ACH, same-day ACH, wire transfer, Venmo and Cash App.
How This Calculator Works
The limits dataset is compiled from each bank's own published Zelle terms as of October 2026. Rows are current at that date but can change — always verify in your banking app before a large transfer. Fee estimates for alternative methods are typical U.S. ranges: domestic wires at $15–$35, same-day ACH at $1–$5, Venmo instant at 1.75%, Cash App instant at 0.5–1.75%.
Why Compare Methods?
Zelle is almost always the cheapest option when it works. The time it breaks down is when the amount is above your bank's cap, the recipient's bank isn't on the Zelle network, or you need extra protection the sender's bank will stand behind. In those cases, a wire or an ACH is often the right call. See our alternatives guide for context.
Need to send more than your Zelle cap?
Options rank from most-common to least: (1) split across days, (2) same-day ACH, (3) domestic wire, (4) open an account at a bank with a higher cap. For small-dollar emergencies before payday, a cash advance app is usually the fastest route.
