Our Mission

ZelleApply exists to answer one question clearly: should you use Zelle® for this particular transfer, and if not, what should you use instead? We cover limits, fees, safety, scams and real alternatives in plain English, from the perspective of someone trying to move money — not from the perspective of any single bank or payment company.

Who We Are

ZelleApply is an independent website that explains how Zelle® works, what each bank allows, how to avoid scams and what to use when Zelle isn't the right fit. We publish under a collective byline, the ZelleApply Editorial Team. We are not a bank, a credit union, a financial advisor or a licensed broker, and we are not affiliated with Zelle® or Early Warning Services, LLC.

How We Work

  • Sources first. Bank limits come from each bank's own Zelle terms or help pages. Consumer-protection guidance follows the CFPB, the FTC and the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center. We name our sources on the page.
  • No guessing. When a bank doesn't publish a figure, we say so and tell you where to find it in your app, rather than printing a number we can't confirm.
  • AI-assisted, source-checked. Our guides are drafted with the help of AI writing tools. Before a page is published or updated, its facts are checked against the sources cited on that page.
  • Plain about money. We earn compensation when readers use our matching form and some linked offers. We disclose this on every page.

Editorial Standards

  • ✓Primary sources first. We rely on banks' and regulators' own pages for limits, fees and protections, and cite them.
  • ✓Date-stamped. Each article shows when it was last updated. Limits and fees change, and we revise pages when they do.
  • ✓No fake reviews. We do not publish invented testimonials or review counts. Any editorial rating we give is labeled as our opinion and explained criterion by criterion.
  • ✓Transparent about AI. We use AI writing tools to help draft content and say so openly.
  • ✓Clear disclosure. We may earn compensation from some products and from our matching form. See our full Affiliate Disclosure.
  • ✓FTC compliance. We follow the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).
  • ✓Open corrections policy. If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change on the page. Email [email protected] to flag errors.

Our Review Methodology

For every service we cover, we run through the same checklist:

  1. Read the current terms, limits and fee schedule directly from the provider.
  2. Cross-check public filings and CFPB complaint data where available.
  3. Test the enrollment and transaction flow on the current app build.
  4. Compare like-for-like against the direct competitors in the same category.
  5. Score honestly — including the weak points. We don't publish puff pieces.
  6. Update when the service changes, not on a fixed calendar.
